In The Mitten (Michigan, for the uninitiated) with all the ‘folks’ this weekend, and I realized that I don’t have a photo of all of us together. My parents live on an acre or so in Ann Arbor, and my in-laws live on a 10 acre farm near Lexington. While we were at my parents, my brother and sister-in-law came by and we all went out to eat and stopped at the local DQ. I thought, “what a good shot, I can finally get us all in!” and wouldn’t you know, my mom, is out of the shot…Sorry, Mom… Of course my brother loves to make faces. This isn’t an accident, he likes to look angry and twisted so he smiles at first and then changes it…Thanks bro…

So my husband and older son got the basketball hoop installed and cemented and up and ready to go! I am seeing a summer with a lot of crushed plants and imagine hearing a lot of thud, thud, thud… Doesn’t bother me a bit : )

What a freakishly windy day! Tore part of the soffet off of our house (that’s another story), but I found the two cutest walkers ever…

If you ever find yourself in Far Northwest Illinois, make sure you’re in Woodstock. It’s gorgeous, and where Groundhog Day was filmed. There are quaint shoppes and a sweet li’l candy store, a bakery, and a lovely bookstore called Between the Lynes but what I love most is just the peacefulness that’s there. Even during an event, it’s warm and friendly. Go already…
